You assume that leaving an 'ever closer' union would entail not having access to European markets. Given our massive balance of trade deficit with Europe, I suggest they would be happy to do a deal to allow us to go back to a 'trade only' membership, with no need to accept all their laws. Which would be the best of both worlds.Thats without taking into account the WTO rules that govern all nations/blocs anyway.
