FRIDAY MUSIC: Radio Luxembourg Luxuries, by JD

Take me back to the days when life made more sense!

Perhaps life made no more sense then than it does now but it was a more innocent time, less cynical and I was younger then (obviously).

I can remember when all of these records were first issued, listening to them on Radio Luxembourg or on AFN broadcasting from Germany (radio reception was a bit hit and miss depending on weather/atmospherics etc)

Some of those featured here are still performing and it look as though this music could be the fountain of youth!

The Tornados -
The Chantays -
Johnny and the Hurricanes -
Santo and Johnny -
The Shadows -
The Ventures -
Duane Eddy -
The Surfaris -

Well the Tornados and Telstar were a huge hit in '62 and the Surfaris Wipeout was the following year '63, suggesting all were in the early sixties, a time of free love cheap beer full employment and endless parties and the best music, not a bad period in one's life if you were around at the time, thanks for the memories JD.

And you could win a fortune using the Horace Batcheor infra draw method, all the way from Keynsham - spelt:K-E-Y-N-S-H-A-M, Bristol....
My God I'm getting old!
