California's 2004-enacted Proposition 58 requires the State to balance its budget. Revolutionary - how about something like this for the US Federal Government, the UK and its regions?
Now Governor Schwarzenegger is looking for a 10% cut in expenditures across the board, as the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

You mean the Labour government not spending vast amounts of money...
Is that possible?
Except that Cali doesn't follow it's prop 58 it's great eh?
Schwarz is calling for a economic disaster to avert HIS spending :)
Hi Verlin, and welcome! Wish I knew more about the subject, but then again, I'm not sure even economists understand economics. I recall hearing that Proposition 13 (1978) was forecast (by a raft of senior econs) to finish-off California - and then the State boomed! In any case, take heart from the fact that you live in such a beautiful State. Merry Christmas!
PS: are you one of the lucky ones that can get easily to the Redneck Riviera?
