I republish below a post from my Substack account (June 15.) Tragically the boy, Archie Battersbee, died yesterday after his life support was switched off, against his mother's will. Her request to move him to a hospice was also denied and permission to take the legal case further refused by the Court:
Three judges, sitting at the court of appeal in central London, ruled on Monday that the decision of a high court judge to reject the plea by the parents of Archie Battersbee for him to be allowed to die a “natural” death had been based on the child’s best interests.
What we suspect it's really about: resources, especially money.

Archie's mother is correct when she says she knows he is in there. His conscious mind is 'in limbo' but his unconscious mind is still functioning. The 'experts' say he is brain dead, whatever that is supposed to mean but if he were actually brain dead then his unconscious mind would have shut down and the vegetative body would begin its decay. The body, the brain and the mind remain complete mysteries and the 'experts' are deluding themselves if they think their mechanical philosophy will enlighten them in any way.
There is a huge difference between being in a deep coma and having zero brain activity.
So I understand from exchanges on the Army Rumour website. I do wonder whether Archie got fast appropriate care to reduce brain swelling etc; experiences with the NHS in recent years gave taught me that the NHS id fallible, communications break down etc. Well, we'll never know now.
