Brexit and the Remain backlash: the reactionary use of language

"ELITE" vs "POPULISM"

Look at the use of these two terms - as they appeared in UK news - and note how the word "populism" spiked around the time of the Referendum, and then got going again in the autumn of 2016 as the propaganda campaign to negate the result got underway:

  2. Maybe the underlying suggestion is that "unpopulism" is the better option, in which case the HoC is doing rather well.
