North Dakota? Or New Mexico?

Interactive WSJ diachronic unemployment map here. (htp: Tim Iacono)

  1. Fascinating!

Compare North Dakota to Michigan, for a REAL eye opener!

Now, let's see...which state is famous for its dominant union workforce? Which state decided to set up a local version of the welfare state?

Is there a lesson someone in power might wish to absorb from this example?

  2. Does anybody live in North Dakota? I suppose someone must, if there's an unemployment rate.

Say what you please, so long as it's phrased politely and is not libellous or legally proscribed. Fact, reason and wit are keenly welcomed.
