You say "Extra marks will be reward...JD says:

You say "Extra marks will be rewarded for some consideration of events years or decades earlier than February 20, 2017 that may have influenced the society and economy of the USA."

How about everything that the USA has done in its 24 decades of history?

That thought came to me when I was reading this by Gemma (frequent commenter at The Slog) and she made a ripe comment about the USA's behaviour over the past 5 decades! 24 decades would be more accurate.

https://gemmasponderings.wordpress.com/2017/02/15/americas-strength-is-its-weakness/

Your earlier post about the dismissal of Flynn was equally interesting and I liked the references to "the battle in the shadows" and there is an awful lot of that in politics. Your post also coincided with a little noticed news item about Steve Bannon quoting Julius Evola. None of the reporters appeared to know who Evola was and just repeated the accusations against him of fascism.
Here's Evola's book -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolt_Against_the_Modern_World

I have a copy of that book and it is no more Fascistic than Plato's Republic and yet Plato is deemed to be the one of the bedrocks of western civilisation. It's a funny old world!

Evola's book is no more than a restatement of the 'Perennial Philosophy' which is itself one of the foundations of the old caste system in Asia. The problem I have is that Evola identifies with the 'warrior' caste and it is probable that Bannon does the same but the highest caste is the Brahmin and that is, to my knowledge, a caste which has never appeared in the history of the USA, except among the Native Americans and they were virtually wiped out by the invading 'warrior' classes from Europe.

I saw a bit of the Trump rally last night and it was bizarre. He was talking sense and then nonsense. "Building safe zones inside Syria and getting the Gulf States to pay for them?" How is that going to work? On the other hand it could be an attack on the CIA/Pentagon who created the mess in the first place. I'm not taking sides, I'm just going to wait and see what happens, because it will happen anyway and there is nothing I nor any of the protestors/supporters can do about it.

Was it Wiggia who said Trump was an old fashioned hustler? He is a hustler but he is also a manipulator which is what is constantly wrong-footing everyone.Sackersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17284329249862764601noreply@blogger.com
